Charity digital grant brings new fundraising innovation for Just a Drop

In the midst of the 2020 pandemic, we at Giant Digital knew we needed to do something to support the many charities affected by the crisis. With demand increasing for charity services, and their ability to fundraise restricted by social distancing guidelines, charities were, and continue to be, some of the hardest hit.

As a developer specialising in charity websites and donation platforms, we offered a £20,000 grant, to be shared between four worthy causes, to help improve online fundraising or service provision.

One of the four successful organisations, Just a Drop, who provide clean water and sanitation access to marginalised communities across the world, requested a digital solution that would help them strengthen their fundraising activities and appeal to new donors during this challenging period.

Brendan Hanlon, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Just a Drop explained;

“The pandemic has put such a strain on charity income generation across the sector. We realised early on that we needed a way to appeal to a wider audience of potential donors. Thanks to Giant Digital’s grant and expertise, we will soon have a completely innovative fundraising mechanism that will not only allow us to engage with new supporters, but also provide a new way for our existing audience to support us – it’s a solution we never would have come up with ourselves and an exciting next step in our fundraising journey”.

The new search engine syndication tool developed by Giant Digital, funded entirely by their digital grant, will enable Just a Drop to generate regular and ongoing revenue through supporters’ everyday online searches, whilst helping raise awareness of their vital work.
